Police seizes counterfeit currency notes valued Rs 97,800 in Maharashtra

Kolhapur, Nov 16 (UNI) Local Crime Branch (LCB) team on Saturday arrested a man and seized counterfeit currency notes of Rs 2000, 500 and 200, total valued Rs 97,800.
According to a statement, on a tip from police informer, LCB team laid a trap in Gadhinglaj tehsil town of this district and arrested one Rahul Maruti Nesari (30), resident of Bhadgaon. After searched, police found counterfeit currency including 33 notes of Rs 2000, 62 notes of Rs 500 and 4 notes of Rs 200, which were all seized.
During the investigation, accused Nesari confessed that he had took these fake currency from Jivan Dhondiba Varute, whom they had already arrested on October 17 in raid on his note factory at Datar Mala in Ichalkaranji town of this district, in which KCB had reunited his counterfeit currency notes factory and seized fake currency notes valued Rs 10,01,000 and materials including g laptop, scanner cum printer, valued Rs 10,500.
