Police seize tourist van used for PNB heist in TN

Tiruchirapalli, Oct 19 (UNI) The special police team probing the daring burglary at Punjab National Bank (PNB) here, seized a tourist van allegedly used for committing the offence from Madurai district on Saturday.
The burglars drilled a hole in the rear wall of the Bikshandarkoil branch of the PNB bank on the city’s outskirts to reach the strong room and looted gold ornaments weighing 470 sovereigns and Rs 19 lakh cash from three lockers using gas cutters in January this year.
The heist was cracked by police, after they nabbed notorious robbers P Suresh (28), I Manikandan (32) and C Ganesan (35) in connection with the sensational dacoity at Lalitha Jewellery Mart Private Limited in Tiruchirapalli city on October 2.
