New Delhi, Aug 15 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched the National Digital Health Mission on the occasion of India's 74th Independence Day, which he said will bring a revolution in the country’s health sector.
Under the mission, he said, every Indian would receive a unique health identity card.
"You will get information about every test, every disease, which doctor prescribed you which medicine and when and your reports under one health ID," the Prime Minister told the people.
Under the Mission, personal medical records will be digitised and diagnostic centres, medical institutions and state medical councils connected. It will provide a villager an easy appointment at the district level and verify doctors.
Treatment under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana would be standardised to ensure better care to citizens in private hospitals.
