PM Modi appeals to all to be part of 'Janta Curfew'

New Delhi, Mar 22 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday appealed to the citizens of the country to stay at home in a bid to maintain social distancing so as to check the spread of coronavirus throughout the country.
Two days back, the Prime Minister had given a clarion call for a 'Janta Curfew', urging people not to venture out in order to keep themselves away from the deadly coronavirus.
In a tweet today morning, Mr Modi said, “In a few minutes from now, the #JantaCurfew commences. Let us all be a part of this curfew, which will add tremendous strength to the fight against COVID-19 menace. The steps we take now will help in the times to come. Stay indoors and stay healthy. #IndiaFightsCorona.”
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had also urged the people to make 'Janta Curfew' a success by staying at home on Sunday as per the call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As of now coronavirus cases in India has crossed the 300-mark, including four fatalities.
According to data collected by the Johns Hopkins University in the United States the worldwide death toll surged past 11,000 on Saturday.

More than 277,000 people have been infected, while some 88,000 have recovered.
