PM asks Bollywood, Tamil , Telugu film industry for shooting movies in J&K

New Delhi, Aug 8 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that abrogation of the Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir will open up new opportunities for the film industry and said film makers from Bollywood and southern states should make the region a prominent destination for shooting movies.

'Majority of the old movies were earlier shot in Kashmir valley', said Mr Modi in his address to nation days after abrogation of the Article 370.

He specifically urged the Bollywood, Telugu and Tamil cinema players to promote shooting of their films in Kashmir, which will not only provide for an ideal location but will also generate employment opportunities for the youth in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Mr Modi said that the new arrangements for Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir will not only reopen gates for film industry in the country but will also provide new avenues and spots for shooting for the global film industry.
