Patwari booked in graft case

Batala, Oct 14(UNI) Batala police have booked a patwari on the charge of accepting a bribe of Rs. 12.25 lakh from a farmer for registering mutation of his agriculture land.
SHO civil lines Lakhwinder Singh told that Rawel Singh, a farmer who was resident of Mooliawal village under Sadar police station had lodged a complaint with the senior superintendent of police that Balbir Singh Patwari had took Rs. 12.25 lakh from him to register his mutation.
On his complaint,the Superintendent of Police (Investigations) Jagjit Singh Saroya conducted a probe in which Patwari Balbir Singh found guilty and a case under section 420 IPC and prevention of corruption act.
