Parmar varsity signs MoU with SJVN

Solan, Jun 15 (UNI) The authorities of Dr Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the authorities of Sanjay Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) for imparting short term skill development programs to the farmers of Himachal Pradesh.
The MOU was signed by D.P. Kaushal, AGM (P&A) and Kartar Singh Verma, Director Extension Education, Nauni University in the presence of Vice Chancellor of Nauni University Dr. Vijay Singh Thakur.
The training and skill development will be in the areas of Fruit Production, Floriculture, Vegetable, Post Harvest Technology, Mushroom Production, Bee-Keeping, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Nursery production (horticulture and forestry crops), start up Agriprenureship, Plant Protection, Organic Farming and environment Impact Assessment. The duration of the program is six days and 500 farmers will be provided the training. This will be a residential program and all expenditure including course fees, travelling expenses etc. will be borne by SJVN. In addition stipend of Rs. 1400 will be provided to each farmer for attending this program. The total cost of the project is Rs. 34.29 lakhs.
