Pampore attack fallout: CRPF to tweak SOPs in Jammu and Kashmir

New Delhi, Jun 27 (UNI) Jolted by Pampore attack that killed eight Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, the paramilitary force will relook into its Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in Jammu and Kashmir, Director General K Durga Prasad said today.
Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Prasad insisted that all existing SOPs were duly followed during the attack and said not only were all personnel (sitting in bus that was attacked) armed, but at least three of those martyred had returned fire despite being shot at by two terrorists, who were killed in the retaliatory firing.
Earlier, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikkar had said 'he doubted if the SOP was followed properly' adding that the situation will be clearer after an inquiry.
