Pak Panel's recommendations attempt to appease New Delhi: Geelani

Srinagar, Feb 3 (UNI) Terming the recommendations of Pakistani Parliamentary Panel that Pakistan should avoid encouraging Kashmiri militants and take action against them as ''unfair and unjustified'', hardliner Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani said ''it is an attempt to appease New Delhi.''
Claiming that militant groups had nothing to do with terrorism, Mr Geelani said the recommendations of the Panel, headed by member parliament Awais Ahmad Leghari, depicted ''an apologetic policy and can’t be called anything but an attempt to appease India.''
“If government of Pakistan will act on these recommendations and took any action against the Kashmiri youths, it will be the follow-up of American policies in Afghanistan,'' Mr Geelani alleged claiming that the US had first used the Mujahideens against the Soviet Union and then cracked down on them.
