Opposition stages sit-in Dharna in Assembly over fee hike in self-financing colleges

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 30 (UNI) Congress-led UDF Opposition began a sit-in dharna in the well of Kerala Assembly demanding the withdrawal of fee hike in medical seats in self financing colleges.
Seeking the leave of the House to move an adjournment motion in connection with the fee hike, VT Balaram of Congress alleged that the Government failed to move an appeal in the Supreme Court against self-financing Colleges on the line of other states like Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
The colleges are collecting high fee and donation from students, proving that Government had failed to control the private managements, he alleged.
