Only vehicles having chains tied with tyres to ply on Tangmarg-Gulmarg road

Srinagar, Mar 18 (UNI) Only vehicles having chains tied with tyres will be allowed to ply on the road between Tangmar and world famous ski resort of Gulmarg where about two feets of fresh snowfall was experienced during the past two days.
Traffic on the hilly road to ski resort was suspended from Tangmarg yesterday following more than a feet of snowfall. However, the authorities immediately pressed into service sophisticated machines and cleared the snow on the road later in the day.
There was more than seven inches of fresh snowfall during the night, forcing authorities to suspend the traffic again this morning, official sources told UNI, adding snow clearance operation has again been launched.
