Onion auction 'bandh' in Chandwad APMC

Nashik, Oct 26 (UNI) In order to control the rising market price of onion at Chandwad Agricultural Produce Market Committee, the Central Government has imposed restrictions on the stock limits of wholesalers and retailers. Therefore, the Onion Traders Association of Chandwad decided to close the onion auction indefinitely from today.

According to sources said , recently the central government taking decisions banned onion export and also imposed a stock limit on the traders to improve the domestic availability of the commodity and provide a relief to consumers. The central government said retailers can stock onion nly upto 2 Tonnes and wholesale traders are allowed to keep upto 25 metric Tonnes of onion in stock.

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Jul 24 (UNI) Incessant rains lashing Marathwada for the past three days have damaged standing Kharif crops in Hingoli, Nanded and Parbhani districts.
Reports reaching from Hingoli stated that heavy rains lashed Aundha Nagnath taluka of district, while three villages have been cut off due to water overflowing from the bridge on Rameshwar to Daudgaon road. The rains have caused severe damage to crops and flooded thousands of hectares of crops. Most of the crops, including soybean and turmeric, in the area have been eroded by the floods.
