One new Covid 19 case, 26 now in Manipur

Imphal, May 22 (UNI) : A male (22 yr) with symptom of stuffy nose, was tested last night at the VRDL, RIMS and found COVID 19 positive. He belongs to a group of stranded people coming back from Delhi by road. He is now admitted in the Covid Care facility at RIMS. His condition is stable according to Dr. Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, Additional Director & Spokesperson Health Department, Manipur.
All necessary control measures like containment and contract tracing were taken up. The total number of positive cases has now increased to 26 and the total number of active cases to 24. The number of positive cases is increasing in the last few days. So far, the increase is occurring only in the group of stranded people. The spokesperson said the public should not panic but should be prepared by adopting social distancing, hand hygiene using soap or sanitizer and wearing of face mask.
Manipur on Wednesday recorded highest single day spike of 16 new cases. All had returned from other states.
