Odisha BJP suffers a major jolt as two party stalwarts resign

Bhubaneswar, Nov30 (UNI) In a major jolt to the Odisha unit of the BJP, two political heavyweights Bijyaya Mohapatra and party MLA from Rourkela Dillip Ray, also a former union minister, today resigned from the party.
The resignation of the Mr Mohapatra, who was the election campaign committee chairman of the party and also national executive body member, follows soon after Mr Ray resigned from the MLA seat and also membership of the party.
In a jointly signed letter both Mr Mohapatra and Mr Ray have sent in their resignation to party president Mr Amit Shah,keeping the state party office bearers in complete dark.

Patna, Apr 26 (UNI) Scorching heat appears to have affected polling percentage during the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in five seats in Bihar, as only 58.58 percent electorate exercised their franchise compared to 62.92 percent in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, which is 4.34 percent less this year.
