Odia documentary Sea and seven villages selected for Kerala fest

Kendrapara, July 19-(UNI) National Award winner film director Himanshu Khatua’s Odia documentary ‘’Sea and Seven
villages‘’ has been selected for the 15th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala.
The festival is scheduled to be held in Kerala from August 4 to 9..

"The sea and Seven villages “ (a film of Climate Refugee) has been directed by renowned national Award winner film director ,Himanshu Khatua, who is also the Director of the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), West Bengal
Produced by Dr Iti Samanta , the Odia documentary is presented by Achyuta Samanta, founder of KISS and KIIT and the MP of Kandhamal.
In the documentray, the Director wants to give a vivid message about climate change and its impact on Satabhaya.
Satabhaya ,once a cluster of seven villages, is said to be the first orphan of Climate change after six villages have taken watery grave with the passing of times.
The documentary also give a real picture about the life and struggle of the people of Satabhaya, known for their dare devilry attitude in facing the onslaught of the sea .
The 1999 super cyclone has let loose its reign of terror here and the suffering of the people due to climate change has been shown in the film.
