New Delhi, Dec 19 (UNI) BJP's alliance problems seemed to be mounting by the day as another NDA
constituent LJP, led by mercurial Ram Vilas Paswan, has now said that things have not worked out yet in Bihar and this "could lead to nuksaan (damage to the alliance)".
"We have discussed the seat-sharing issue with BJP leaders many times but failed to reach an agreement. If this issue is not settled on time, it could also lead to 'nuksaan' (damage to the alliance)," LJP leader and Parliamentary Board chairman Chirag Paswan wrote in a tweet in Hindi.
He also said: "We have discussed the seat-sharing issue with BJP leaders many times but failed to reach an agreement".
Junior Paswan, who in 2014 was said to have played a key role in getting LJP into the NDA fold, also wrote: "...the BJP should properly address the concerns" of the alliance partners especially in view of the exit of RLSP and TDP.
LJP chief Mr Ram Vilas Paswan is Union Food Minister in the Modi cabinet. But the LJP chief has the unique reputation of being minister serving under all Prime Ministers since 1996 - H D Deve Gowda, I K Gujral, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Manmohan Singh and since 2014 under PM Narendra Modi.
Mr Paswan had, however, missed cabinet berth in UPA-2 dispensation under Dr Manmohan Singh.
In fact, in 2009 Lok Sabha polls, Mr Paswan, a popular Dalit face from Bihar, also had lost his traditional Hajipur seat to JD(U)'s Ram Sundar Das by a margin of 37,954 votes.
In the present Lok Sabha, LJP has six seats. LJP chief is representing Hajipur while his son Chirag Paswan is elected member from Jamui.
