New Delhi, Jun 26 (UNI) While expressing his deep anguish on killing of a youth by mob in Jharkhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, however, lambasted the opposition for calling Jharkhand a hub of lynching, saying that no one has right to insult the state .
Replying to the debate on Motions of Thanks on President's address in Rajya Sabha, Mr Modi said, "The lynching in Jharkhand has pained me. It has saddened others too. But, some people in the Rajya Sabha are calling Jharkhand a hub of lynching. Is this fair? Why are they insulting a state. None of us have the right to insult the state of Jharkhand."
The victim, Tabrez Ansari was going home to Saraikela-Kharsawan's Karsova from Jamshedpur with some friends last week when he was attacked by a mob barely five kilometres from his home.
The prime minister said the law will take its own course and justice must be delivered.
On Acute Encephalities Syndrome in Bihar's Muzaffarpur, where over 150 children have died, the prime minister said, "It is a matter of shame for us. It's one of the biggest failures for us and we must take it seriously. I'm in constant contact with the state government. The Union Health Minister was sent to take stock of the situation."
He also urged everyone to take pro-active steps in ending this menace.
