No govt to form in Mizoram without BJP: Tripura CM

No govt to form in Mizoram without BJP: Tripura CM

Agartala, Nov 11 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb last night talking to
media reaffirmed that there will be no government formed in Mizoram in upcoming
election without BJP whatever might be the formulation of political equation by the
pundits.
Mr Deb said political landscape of Mizoram has been changing very fast and
everyday there is a major development but BJP did not want to get into such cheap
politics. However, BJP will play the role of catalyst this time in forming government
in Mizoram leaving aside all campaigns against it.
“In the history of Mizoram this is for the first time Speaker of the existing assembly
Hiphei left congress and joined in BJP. The Home Minister Lalzirliana had resigned
form the ruling congress and joined in opposition Mizo National Front (MNF), which
is also a part of part of the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), a BJP-led
conglomeration of anti-congress parties of Northeast,” Mr Deb underlined.
He pointed out that faced with large scale desertions; anti-incumbency and the
growing influence of BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, congress has been
trying hard to retain power in its last bastion in the Northeast but this will not happen
this time.
“BJP is a new entry in Mizoram and in earlier occasions it was a game of two
parties – congress and MNF along with some local party. If anyone desert the
congress had to be in MNF or vise-versa but now they all choice BJP only
because of the leadership of Amit Shah and Narendra Modi,” Mr Deb argued.
The people of Mizoram must have realized by that time how fruit of development
is reaching to Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland and
Tripura. In eight months old BJP-IPFT government in Tripura made the people
believe after 25 yrs of communist rule there is governance and government is
highly sensitive to people’s cause.
Whatever development programs and schemes have been launched by Narendra
Modi government in last five years is highly beneficial for northeast region.
Unfortunately, the previous state governments of the region could not able to
harness the potentials but now BJP ruled states trapping them systematically where
Mizoram could also be a part, he added.
