Nitish inaugurates Karpoori Thakur Government Medical College and Hospital in Madhepura

Madhepura, Mar 07 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today inaugurated Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur Medical College and Hospital in Madhepura.
Mr Kumar, while addressing a function organised on the occasion, said that his government had made sustained efforts to improve the health and medical care facilities in Bihar since 2005.When he took over reins of Bihar in 2005, the condition of government hospital was pathetic and none was prepared to go there for treatment, he added.
"According to a survey conducted in the year 2006, the number patients seeking treatment in primary health centre was 39 per month while it increased to 10,000 after sutained efforts of the government to improve treatment facilities there", Chief Minister said adding that his government would ensure such a quality treatment facility in Bihat that no patient would need to go outside state for better treatment. People of Bihar had now started opting for treatment in government hospital which was an encouraging sign, he noted.
