Nitish exhorts for imbibing teachings of Guru Nanak

Patna, Nov 12 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today exhorted people to imbibe
teachings of first Guru of Sikhs Guru Nanak Devji, saying it would help in creating a
good society with spirit of love, fraternity and mutual coexistence.
Mr Kumar, in his message on the occasion of 550th Prakash Parva, said that Guru
Nanak Devji, in his teachings, gave sermon to the people to live with the spirit of peace,
love, fraternity and muutal coexistence.
People should imbibe his teachings which was now more relevant than earlier, he
added.
Chief Minister said that Guruji had taught the people that only one God was in
existence, irrespective of any religion.
One could call the God by any name but his existence was the same and one which
he used to described as 'Ik Onkar', he said quoting teachings of Guruji and added that
one should earn honestly by hard labour and never indulged in usurping the rights
and belongings of any other.
Mr Kumar said that Guruji was not only founder of a particular religion but he was also
a philosopher, social reformer, poet, patriot and a great personality of wider vision with
spirit of spreading the message of fraternity and brotherhood among the people across
the globe.
Guruji had travelled far flung areas of the country in all corners to spread the message
of love and brotherhood, he added.
