New Delhi, Jan 12 (UNI) In a major breakthrough in Chandel Army ambush case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), on Friday, has arrested accused Naorem Premkanta Singh of Kakching in Manipur a with pistol and five live rounds .
Singh was found involved in a NIA case registered at Guwahati which was related to an ambush on Army personnel at Chandel district of Manipur on June 4, 2015 in which 18 army personnel were killed.
“He belongs to a banned terror organisation namely “Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL)” and had participated in the said ambush on Army personnel of 6th Dogra Battalion. The above accused had been absconding since the ambush took place,”NIA stated in a release here on Friday.
