NHRC seeks ATR on death of a college girl in ragging in Odisha

Kendrapara, July 6 (UNI) The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought for an Action Taken Report (ATR) on the alleged death of a girl student due to ragging in the hostel of BJB Autonomous College on July 2 last.

Acting on a petition filed by Civil Rights Lawyer Radhakanta Tripathy the Apex human rights panel has sought the ATR within four weeks from the Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department of Odisha government and the Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar.

Tripura govt to start chopper service to islands of Dumboor lake

Agartala, Aug 14 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Saturday after holding a Tiranga rally with the indigenous people residing around Dumboor lake, the main source of the state’s sole hydro-power generation said that the state government would soon invite private helicopters to start their services in the Narkel Kunja – an island of Dumboor to boost tourism.
