Namibia provides basic rhino monitoring training to community rangers

Windhoek, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) Namibia's Save the Rhino Trust said Tuesday it had kicked off rhino monitoring training of 80 community rhino rangers in a bid to curb the poaching of the last free roaming black rhinos in the world.
According to Save the Rhino Trust Chief Executive Officer Simson Urikob, the training is to equip community rangers with different skills that will make it possible for them to handle themselves in the field while protecting the rhinos.
"Community rhino rangers working in these area's are of the utmost importance when conducting monitoring patrols and providing critical information on rhinos," he said.
