Russian paratroopers enter Kazakhstan as protest continues

Moscow, Jan 6 (UNI) Russian paratroopers on Thursday entered Kazakhstan as part of a Moscow-led military alliance's "peacekeeping" mission, amid reports that 12 people were killed and over 350 police and security forces personnel injured in the massive protests and clashes that continue to rage in the Central Asian country.
According to a Tass report, Aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces’ military and transport aviation are sending the Airborne forces’ military units to Kazakhstan as part of the Collective Security Treaty Organization’s (CSTO) peacekeeping forces
"Russia’s military units of the Airborne forces have joined the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces. Currently, the aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces’ military and transport aviation are sending Russian units of the peacekeeping contingent to the Republic of Kazakhstan," said the CSTO Secretariat.
