CAR Prez signs decree on new constitution

Bangui, Aug 31 (UNI) Central African Republic (CAR) President Faustin-Archange Touadera has signed a decree that will bring into force the country's new constitution, removing presidential term limits, according to a copy of the document obtained by Sputnik.
Earlier in August, the Constitutional Court of the CAR approved the results of the referendum in which more than 95% of voters backed country's new draft constitution. Voter turnout was 57.23%.
"The Constitution of the Central African Republic, which was voted for in a referendum on July 30, has been adopted. This decree, which goes into effect from the moment of its signing [August 30], will be registered and published in the Official Journal," the decree read.
