US congressional leaders strike deal to avoid govt shutdown

Washington, Feb 29 (UNI) Congressional leaders have struck a funding deal to avoid a government shutdown, and US lawmakers are expected to vote on stopgap legislation by the end of this week, Politico reported, citing a senior leadership aide.
The deal was also struck on the Agriculture, Energy-Water, Military Construction, Transportation, Interior-Environment, and Commerce-Justice-Science bills, pushing the deadline for them to March 8, the report said.
