Kazakh President cancels Astana international forum over floods

Astana, April 13 (UNI) Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has cancelled the Astana International Forum (AIF) scheduled for June 13–14 over the large-scale floods that have hit the country and the need to save financial resources to address the disaster’s aftermath, the president’s press service said on Saturday.

"Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, due to the unprecedented floods in Kazakhstan and the need to save financial resources to eliminate the consequences of large-scale destruction and to provide assistance to the citizens of the country, has decided to cancel the Astana International Forum on June 13–14 this year," the press service said on Telegram.
