Aliyev congratulates Putin on victory in Russian prez election

Baku, Mar 18 (UNI) Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on the victory in Russia's presidential election, the press service of the Azerbaijani leader said on Monday.

"On March 18, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev called Vladimir Putin. Aliyev congratulated Putin on his victory in the presidential election and wished him success in his presidential activities for the sake of the country's development and prosperity. Vladimir Putin thanked the head of state for the attention and congratulations. During the telephone conversation, confidence was expressed in further strengthening the ties of alliance and strategic partnership between the countries, and an exchange of views took place on the prospects for cooperation," the statement said.
