Senior-most officer to become army chief

London, Nov 12 (UNI) After meetings between Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif here, it has been decided to appoint the military’s senior-most officer as the next army chief, Geo News reported on Saturday.
The decision was taken during a meeting on Friday of the PML-N leadership, with Nawaz Sharif, Vice President Maryam Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif taking part in the discussions, the media said.
Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa is set to retire on November 29, and the PML-N -- the major stakeholder in the ruling coalition -- has resolved to appoint the senior-most officer whose name is at the top in the list that would be sent to the government, Geo reported.
