Washington, Mar 8 (UNI) Former US President Donald Trump praised the Chinese TikTok company on Thursday over Facebook.
“If you get rid of TikTok, Facebook and Zuckerschmuck will double their business,” Trump said on Truth Social.
Trump said that Facebook “cheated" in the last election and stressed that he does not want it to do better. He also called this company a “true enemy” of the American people.
The United States banned TikTok on all US government devices and on some state government devices.
Earlier on Thursday, the US House Committee on Energy and Commerce voted 50-0 to advance both the Prohibition of Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, targeting apps like TikTok, and the Protecting Americans’ Data from Foreign Adversaries Act, focusing on preventing data brokers from sharing sensitive US citizen information with foreign adversaries.
