Algeria to get 500,000 doses of Russian Sputnik V Vaccine in January

CAIRO, January 18 (Sputnik) - Algeria expects to receive about 500,000 doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against the coronavirus this month, Jamal Furar, the spokesperson of the Coronavirus Monitoring and Follow-up Committee said.
"We are starting the population’s vaccination right after getting the first batch of the [Sputnik V] vaccine. 500,000 doses of the Russian vaccine will be delivered to Algeria in the course of this month," Furar told the Chaine 2 radio station.
According to the spokesperson, the Algerian authorities plan to vaccinate up to 60-70 percent of the population.
