EAM Jaishankar calls on Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, discusses bilateral strategic ties

Abu Dhabi/New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday called on Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, during which they discussed the bilateral strategic partnership and ways to forge even closer ties.
EAM Jaishankar in a tweet said:
“Deeply honoured to call on HH @MohamedBinZayed.
“Value his continued guidance in development of our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.”
Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the Indian Foreign Minister to the UAE and wished him a successful visit, The National News reported.
Jaishankar extended the greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and shared his desire for the further development of bilateral ties and the continued prosperity and progress of the Emirates.
Sheikh Mohamed reciprocated the greetings and expressed his hope for the further development, progress and stability of India and its people.
During the meeting in Abu Dhabi, they discussed the strategic partnership between their nations and explored ways to forge even closer links.
They also exchanged views on several issues and the latest regional and international developments.
The high-level talks were attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad, chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports Company, Ali Al Shamsi, deputy secretary general of the Supreme National Security Council, and Khaldoon Al Mubarak, chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority and member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
In early September Prime Minister Modi and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, had spoken on the phone during which both leaders reviewed progress in their bilateral relations and agreed that there is no place for terrorism and extremism in the world.
On Saturday, Jaishankar met Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, in Dubai as part of his visit to the UAE.
Both leaders agreed to review efforts to enhance relations in all fields, with a focus on the economy.
According to a readout of the talks by the UAE Foreign Ministry, During the meeting, held in Dubai, they discussed the longstanding and strong historic relations between the UAE and India and ways to enhance them in all fields, including the economic aspect, as well as a number of issues of mutual interest.
Sheikh Abdullah emphasised the depth of the historic ties between the UAE and India and continuing keenness to enhance them in all fields, in light of the support and care given by the leadership of the two countries.
In turn, Jaishankar praised the strong historic ties between the UAE and India and congratulated the UAE on its being selected to host the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28) in 2023.
