S Korea, US holding river-crossing drills near N Korean border

Seoul, Mar 20 (UNI) South Korea and the United States have been conducting river-crossing drills on the Imjin River in the city of Paju, which borders North Korea, since March 11 to enhance the interoperability of both countries' troops, the Yonhap news agency reported on Wednesday, citing the South Korean Army.

The number of troops involved in the two-week drills consists of about 470 soldiers from the South Korean Army's 5th Armoured Brigade and the US 2nd Infantry Division/ROK-US Combined Division, the news agency reported.
