World leaders continue to express condolences, condemn terrorist attack near Moscow

Moscow, Mar 23 (UNI) World leaders continue to express condolences over the deadly terror attack on the Crocus City Hall concert venue near Moscow as well as to strongly condemn the act of terrorism.


Russian authorities received letters of condolences from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, while the Afghan Foreign Ministry condemned "in the strongest terms" the terrorist attack in Moscow, considering it a "blatant violation of all human standards."

The government of Burkina Faso has strongly condemned the attack and inhumane actions that caused the deaths of innocent people, the country’s Information Department said on its social media.
"I strongly condemn the heinous attack in Moscow last night that has resulted in the loss of many precious lives. My heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Pakistan stands with Russia at this difficult time," Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wrote on X.
The Philippine Foreign Affairs Department issued a statement of condolences on Saturday, urging the Filipino community in Moscow "to undertake the necessary precautions," while the South Korean government expressed hope for a rapid identification of the people responsible for the incident.
Vietnamese Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan has sent a letter of condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin over the terrorist act, while Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son has sent a letter to his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
On behalf of the government and the people of Yemen, the head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Muhammad al-Alimi, expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, saying that his country strongly condemns "cowardly terrorist acts" and expressed "solidarity and full support" to Russia.
"[We] are raising a voice to condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, as it represents one of the most severe threats to peace and international security," the Foreign Ministry of Costa Rica said in a statement, after expressing condolences to the victims.
The Foreign Ministry of Cyprus joined the wave of condolences over the incident, expressing its shock at the tragic news on X.
A shooting occurred on Friday evening in the Crocus City Hall concert venue just in the city of Krasnogorsk, outside Moscow, followed by a massive fire. A Sputnik correspondent who witnessed the attack reported that at least three men in camouflage had broken into the music hall, shooting people point-blank and throwing incendiary bombs.
According to the latest data from the Russian Investigative Committee, at least 93 people died in the terrorist attack and many others were injured, and the number of those killed is expected to increase.
Eleven people were detained in connection with the attack, including four who were directly responsible, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said. All four were detained in the Russian region of Bryansk, which borders Ukraine, a few hours apart, the FSB added.
