Day temp above normal at many places over Sub-Himalayan

Pune, April 25 (UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal(5.1°C or more) at many places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; at isolated places over Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal and Assam and Meghalaya; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Jharkhand; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe; at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Telangana. These were below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places over Vidarbha and east Madhya Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 43.7°C was reported at Anantapur
(Rayalaseema) over the country.
Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions prevailed at some parts over Gangetic West Bengal; in isolated pockets over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal; Heat wave conditions in isolated pockets over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, interior Karnataka, Bihar and Odisha. Heat wave conditions are prevailing over Odisha since 15th and over Gangetic West Bengal since 17th April.
