Day temp markedly above normal at isolated places over west MP, HP & Uttarakhand

Pune, Mar 30 (UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over west Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Assam and Meghalaya; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Arunachal Pradesh; at isolated places over west Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, east Rajasthan and east Madhya Pradesh; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Vidarbha and Rayalaseema; at many places over Chhattisgarh and South Interior Karnataka; at a few places over east Uttar Pradesh Telangana and Marathwada; at isolated places over Jharkhand, Odisha, Sub- Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa, coastal and north interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Kerala and Mahe and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
These were markedly below normal(-5.1°C or less) at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad; below normal (-1.6°C to-3.0°C) at isolated places over Bihar and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and near normal over rest parts of the country.
Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 42.6°C was reported at Akola (Vidarbha) over the country.
