Day temperatures above normal at many places over Tamil Nadu

Pune, Mar 8 (UNI) Day temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; at a few places over Telangana, south interior Karnataka; at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Kerala and Mahe. They were appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at many places over Gangetic West Bengal; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh; at isolated places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at most places over Bihar and Jharkhand; at many places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Punjab; at a few places over Odisha; at isolated parts over Gujarat region and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 40.1°C was reported at Anantapur (Rayalaseema) over the country.

Night temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at a few places over Telangana, Rayalaseema, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe; at isolated places over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, north interior Karnataka, south interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. They are appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at most places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at most places over Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh; at many places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Punjab; at a few places over Gujarat state, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, MadhyaPradesh; at isolated places over Bihar, Jharkhand. Gangetic West Bengal. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan and Goa and near normal over rest parts of the country. Today, the lowest minimum temperature of 8.3°C is reported at Karnal (Haryana) over the plains of the country.
