Panaji, Jul 11 (UNI) Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat on Saturday demanded that government immediately hand over Covid Hospital management to Army in view of the two more deaths reported in the state due the virus infection in the state.
In a statement, he said," As the Covid death toll now reaches double digit with two Covid deaths in less than 24 hours and disturbing reports coming from the patients as well as the relatives of all those admitted in Covid Hospital at Margao and other Covid Care centres about gross mismanagement, I want to ask Government with heavy heart how many more deaths government needs to show sensitivity towards Covid patients to provide proper, safe and secure food and other facilities?"
He pointed out that he had asked the Prime Minister as well as the Chief Minister as early as in March to form a task force comprising of experts from the Civil Society and Army to handle the Covid pandemic.
