Need to stand unitedly with Sonia Gandhi, Rahul: Girish Chodankar

Need to stand unitedly with Sonia Gandhi, Rahul: Girish Chodankar

Panaji, Aug 24 (UNI) Goa Congress President Girish Chodankar has said that there was need to stand unitedly with party national President Sonia Gandhi and support former President Rahul Gandhi who was exposing misdeeds of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government at the Centre.
In a series of tweets, Mr Chodankar also said that at a time when the Gandhis were fighting to help people facing the wrath of the Coronavirus on one hand and on the other fighting to save the democracy of the country, demand for restructure of the party at this point was absurd.
'@INCIndia is the First Family of India & the Movement that provides strength & sanity to the Nation. After @RahulGandhi resignation it was SmtSoniaGandhi who took charge despite all odds. Making internal communication public of our family is unethical, unfair & destructive especially when @INCIndia is the only party keeping a selfish Govt in check. It’s only @RahulGandhi who is fighting against @narendramodi and his reign of greed, terror & injustice. We should stand unitedly with our President & support #RahulGandhi who is exposing misdeeds of this Govt becoming common man’s voice. At a time when the Gandhis are fighting to help people facing the wrath of the Coronavirus on one hand and on the other fighting to save the Democracy of Our great Nation. A demand for a restructure at this point is absurd,' he said.
Ahead of the meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), Ms Gandhi has expressed her desire to quit her post and asked party leaders to elect a new president.
