Maharashtra logs 2,024 new Covid cases, 5 deaths

Mumbai, Aug 6 (UNI) Maharashtra has reported 2,024 fresh Covid-19 cases, according to a health bulletin released on Saturday.
The state’s cumulative case tally has surged to 80,55,989, while the overall toll stood at 1,48,129 with five new deaths reported.

The bulletin said 2,190 patients were cured of the virus and discharged, taking the recovery count to 78,95,954.
The state's recovery rate significantly stands at 98.01 per cent and fatality rate at 1.83 per cent.
Presently, there are 11,906 active Covid-19 patients undergoing treatment in different hospitals in the state, the bulletin added.
In Marathwada region there are 115 positive cases, including 35 in Nanded district, Osmanabad (32), Aurangabad (19), Latur (12), Beed (10) and seven cases in Jalna district. No cases of Covid-19 were detected in rest of the two districts, the bulletin said.
