Hindu Janjagran Samiti demands NIA investigation in religious conversion in Uttar Pradesh

Hindu Janjagran Samiti demands NIA investigation in religious conversion in Uttar Pradesh

Kolhapur, June 23 (UNI) Hindu Jangaran Samiti (HJS) has demanded that the tentacles of religious conversion module found in Uttar Pradesh and which to be linked to terrorism, should hand over to NIA.
In a press release today, Ramesh Shinde, HJS national spokesperson said that following the arrest of two Maulavis in Uttar Pradesh for carrying out religious conversions of one thousand Hindus, recently the investigation revealed that the two were being funded by Pakistan’s covert organisation, ISI. In addition, it has been discovered that the tentacles of this religious conversion module have spread to Delhi, Maharashtra, Haryana and Kerala too! In the recent past, four women and a few men from Kerala had joined ISIS. Since this whole religious conversion module was linked to terrorism and ISI, on this backdrop the investigation of this conversation module should be handed over to NIA.
Mr Shinde said that In the past too, after the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested two persons from Dr Zakir Naik’s Islamic Research Foundation that has been banned by the Centre, it was discovered that the duo had carried out religious conversion of 700 Hindu. Today, several Indian states have passed laws against religious conversion; yet, if anti-national activities are being carried out through religious conversions across the country, and terrorism is being propagated, then the Modi government should form a nationwide, stringent anti-conversion law to put a stop to such incidents.
The Uttar Pradesh government has declared that it will seize the properties of all such people and try them under the National Security Act. The Centre should also enact similar steps across the country, Mr Shinde added.
