Covid-19: Maha Govt announces strict policy regarding vaccination

Aurangabad / Mumbai, Nov 27 (UNI) Taking a serious view of many people are still being negligent and have not been vaccinated against novel coronavirus despite vaccination programme having gained momentum in the state, the Maharashtra government on Saturday announced a strict policy regarding vaccination.
In an official notification, state chief secretary Sitaram Kunte stated that,the state government has now taken a tough stance on the negligent attitude of people and it has now increased the amount of fines.

Besides increasing the fine amount, the new rules stipulate that a person should be fully vaccinated while travelling in any mode of public transport.
Accordingly, passengers who are not vaccinated will be fined Rs.500 while the unvaccinated drivers or conductors will also be fined Rs 500.
Whereas, the owner of a private vehicle will be fined Rs 10,000.
Moreover, shopkeepers, malls and private transporters in the state will also be fined Rs 10,000 for violating the rules.
The state government has planned to give first dose of Covid vaccine to 100 per cent population by the end of November or in next 10 days, the notification added.
