Aurangabad,Sep 21 (UNI) The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 121 fresh COVID-19 cases and 5 positive patients are succumbed during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Tuesday.
The district headquarters report stated that of eight districts in the region, Osmanabad district was the worst-affected with 49 cases and two deaths followed by Beed reportred 35 cases and two deaths ,Parbhani registered three cases and single death, Aurangabad had 16 cases , Latur recorded 15 cases , Latur recorded 28 cases , Nanded had twp cases and Hingoli and Jalna districts reportred single case each.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 2,583 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 65,24,498.
The state also registered 28 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,38,546.
Meanwhile, highest 3,856 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 63,40,723 the recovery rate currently stands at 97.18 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.
At present, there are 41,672 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
