Emphasise on triad of higher education, research & skill development for underprivileged: Bais

Pune, Mar 4 (UNI) Highlighting importance of higher education in economic and social development of the country, Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais on Monday asserted that the universities should emphasise on the triad of imparting higher education to underprivileged sections of the society, research and skill development.
Speaking at a national conference on 'Role of Higher Education in Making India a Developed Nation - Bharat@2047' in a city hotel, he said that the goal of a developed India can be achieved if sustainable economic development, quality education and health facilities are made available to all.
Noting that artificial intelligence and machine learning will see rapid changes in education sector, he said, "In such a situation, we have to tie up with the best universities of the world to exchange students, professors and courses."
