ATM cash theft: 3 arrested, cash of over Rs 4 cr recovered

Palghar, Nov 18 (UNI) With the arrest of three people including the driver of a cash van, the MBVV (Mira-Bhayander Vasai Virar) police on Wednesday claimed to have solved the case of theft of cash worth Rs 4.25 crore from an ATM (automated teller machine) kiosk in Virar town of the district last week.
On November 12, while other members of the company were filling cash into the ATM of a bank at Virar at about 1700 hours, the driver of the van fled with the vehicle containing cash in it.
Following which, an offence under section 381 of Indian Penal Code was then registered against the van driver with the Arnala police station and different teams were formed to search for the alleged accused, police said.
