Mah - District BJP workers stages token hunger strike for reopening of temples

Kolhapur, Oct 13 (UNI) Bhartiya Janata party (BJP) district unit workers on Tuesday staged a token hunger strike at city's busy Mirjkar Tomato areas demanding the reopening of temples for devotees and to protesting against the attitude of the state government towards this issue.
The workers of BJP lead by its district president Rahul Chikode, gathered at Mirajkar Tikati and staged a days token hunger strike at the specially erected mandap to express their protest against the state government for not opening the temples even after improvement in the ongoing corona epidemic in the state. Workers also shouted slogans against the government like "Mandir Bandh, Ughdle Bar...Uddhav Dundh Tuze Sarkar" (Temples closed, opened bar... Udhave your goverment as intoxicating).
While addressing gathering, Mr Chikode said that our party had not demanded the opening of temples in the last seven months because of the ongoing corona epidemic in the state but now the state government has ordered the opening of bars, liquor shops, malls but is obstructing to reopening of temples.
