Maha Govt urges Railways for resumption of local trains for general public

Mumbai, Oct 28 (UNI) The Maharashtra government has urged both the Central and Western Railways for resumption of suburban trains for general public (non-essential passengers) with proposed staggered timings for both essential and non-essential staff.
Railway officials said on Wednesday they have received the letter and further decision will be taken based on meetings, which will be done by the Ministry of Railways, officials from the government and general managers of both the Railways.
In a letter to the general managers of both Central and Western Railways, the secretary of Disaster Management, Relief & Rehabilitation Department stated that, “The state is looking to open up the local train services to the general public while ensuring adherence to the following of all Covid-19 protocols."
