Monitor large financial transactions: official

Sangli, Feb 28 (UNI) Against the backdrop of upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the concerned government agencies should keep a close eye on large financial transactions from the bank accounts and to check railway couriers, parcels, and checkposts, directed chief Electoral officer Shrikant Deshpande on Wednesday.
Addressing a meeting of government agencies held at district collector's office here in the presence of other top government officers, he instructed to be alert 24x7 on interstate border, to keep a tab on checkposts by flying squads, static surveillance teams, video surveillance teams as precautionary measures without harassing legal businesses, he said.
Speaking on occasion, superintendent of police Sandeep Ghuge informed the meeting about preparedness of district police to hold free and fair elections in the district.
