Mumbai, Sep 8 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday directed officials to formulate regulations for good governance by combining common people's problems and government procedures so that benefits of the government services and schemes can reach common people easily.
He gave this direction while speaking in a meeting of the committee appointed to prepare the rules of good governance held at official Varsha bugalow in south Mumbai.
He said that regulations should be prepared in such a way that would be a model for other states, wherein special priority will be given to sectors of agriculture, health, information technology, education, tribal development and employment generation.
The Chief Minister laid emphasis on including in the rules of good governance that citizens should have access to government services in a more transparent manner and to reduce the gap between the government and the citizens.
He said that the rules of good governance will be useful for the good administration.
He also stressed on the need of using information technology more effectively for making administration more effective.
The committee should take the help of experts in the field while suggesting measures to prevent farmers' suicides, joint ventures for farmers and use of modern technology in agriculture, Shinde added.
