Mumbai, April 10 (UNI) Maharashtra State Congress president Nana Patole's car was completely wrecked in an accident in Bhandara when a truck collided with his car prompting Patole to term it as a deliberate attack on his life.
While speaking about the deadly crash late Tuesday, Patole confirmed that it looked like the truck driver deliberately dashed into his car, causing major damage to the vehicle.
The state president was returning after a campaign late night when the accident took place, officials said, adding that no one was majorly injured.
Patole sustained some minor injuries. He was returning from a poll campaign event in Bhandara-Gondiya parliament constituency when the speeding truck rammed into his car, as per several party members.
State Congress spokesperson Atul Londhe raised suspicions about the accident in a post on X. Londhe said the accident occurred near Karda village in Bhandara district. He claimed that a truck hit Patole's car and tried to crush it.
"This is a serious incident, and there is room for doubt if it was an attempt on his life. Does the BJP want to win elections by finishing off opposition leaders?" he said.
Patole also shared a video message giving information about the crash terming it a deliberate attack on his life.
